Baumwipfelpfad Saarschleife

 

The Baumwipfelpfad Saarschleife is a 1.250 meter long trail in Orscholz, in the county Mettlach.

It starts at the Cloef-Atrium a viewing-platform above the Cloef.

When arrived on top, you can enjoy the view of Germany's most beautiful flowloop.

Wolfspark Werner Freund 

 

Perfect for a family trip: 

You and your family are able to experience the wolves up close. If you are lucky you will even be able to enjoy wolf pups.

After the walk through the park, you have the chance to explore the beautiful city of Merzig.

Wold Heritage Völklinger Hütte

In our neighboring town, Völklingen you can 

live through decades of Saarland's steel history. It was closed down in 1986 and is now the an UNESCO World Heritage.  On over 600.000 square meters you can explore the former work place of the ironworkers and climb up to the 40 meters high viewing-platform of the blast furnace group.

Saarbrücker Altstadt

Saarbrücken's heart is probably undebatable it's Oldtown. Coffee shops, bars, restaurants and small shops line up around the St. Johanner Market. For those who love to go shopping is Saarbrücken's big mall, the Europa-Gallery and the Bahnhofsstreet right around the corner.

Saarpolygon

 

The Saar Polygon in Ensdorf, Saarland is a monument commemorating the coal mining industry in Saarland, which ended in June 2012.

The trail up to the Polygon is quite exhausting, but worth it. One you arrived at the top, you will see the most beautiful view. Those who cannot get enough of it can even climb up the Polygon and enjoy the view from 25 meter above the ground.
